How to Install the Open Wireless certificate on a Chromebook
Last Updated 3 years ago

Please follow the below instructions when trying to install the Open Wireless certificate on a Chromebook.

1.Connect to DSHS Open.

2.Accept the T&Cs.

3.Login with your network credentials.

4.Click on the get started link and then the PC link.

5.The certificate will now download; however, you won’t be able to install in from your downloads folder.

6.Open the Settings in Google Chrome, then navigate to the ‘Manage Certificate’ menu, this is done easiest through the search bar in Chromes settings.

7.When you are in the ‘Manage Certificates’ menu there will be some tabs across the top, you need to click on the authorities tab, here you will see a list of certificates as well as in ‘Import’ button, click this button.

8.This will now take you to your downloads where you should be able to see the certificate that you have just downloaded, select and import this certificate.

9.You will then be offered 3 options as to why you want to install the certificate, you need to choose the option that specifics website security (this is option number one).

10.When you have confirmed this, you will be taken back to the list of certificates, at this point the certificate has been installed, it is worth mentioning that Chrome gives you no notification of a successful install, you just need to open a new tab and test if the import has been a success.
